Introduction
Newborns are generally observed for 1 to 3 days, or 5 to 7 days, before being discharged. If all physical indicators are normal after birth, discharge usually occurs after 1 to 3 days of hospital observation. However, if any physical indicators are abnormal—such as severe jaundice, abnormal breathing, or unusual responsiveness—the baby may need to stay in the hospital for 5 to 7 days for clinical evaluation and necessary treatment.

Newborns are generally observed for 1 to 3 days, or 5 to 7 days before being discharged. It is recommended to determine the discharge time based on the newborn's condition, with specific details as follows:

1. 1–3 Days

Newborns typically refer to infants just after birth. If their vital signs are normal after delivery—such as body temperature, respiration, heart rate, feeding, and bowel and bladder function—they can usually be discharged after 1 to 3 days of hospital observation.

2. 5–7 Days

If certain vital signs are abnormal—for example, severe jaundice, irregular breathing, or abnormal responsiveness—the hospital stay may need to be extended, possibly up to 5 to 7 days. In such cases, clinical evaluations and appropriate treatments are required.

The discharge timing depends on the severity of the newborn's condition. Once the infant shows improvement or recovery, discharge will be arranged.
