Tympanic membrane perforation repair surgical procedure
Myringoplasty, commonly known as tympanic membrane perforation repair, is a surgical procedure frequently performed using the sandwich technique. The operation should be conducted at a正规 hospital. The specific steps are as follows:
1. The patient lies on their side, and the physician performs routine disinfection of the skin around the ear canal.
2. An otoscope is inserted into the external auditory canal, through which an anesthetic is administered into the ear canal for local surface anesthesia. After the anesthetic takes effect, excess medication is suctioned out.
3. A delivery tube is inserted, with its tip passing through the perforation in the tympanic membrane. A rotating knife is used to trim the perforation into a regular circular shape, after which the distal biocompatible material is deployed.
4. The tube is gently withdrawn to release the proximal biocompatible material, allowing both layers of biomaterial to adhere closely to either side of the perforation.
5. The biomaterial is fully released, the delivery tube is removed, and the procedure is completed.
In daily life, patients should avoid upper respiratory tract infections and refrain from forceful nose-blowing, as this may cause displacement of the tympanic membrane and lead to surgical failure.
