Tympanoplasty procedure
Myringoplasty involves, under endoscopic guidance, first denuding the margins of the tympanic membrane perforation, followed by tympanoplasty and repair of the eardrum. Myringoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure commonly performed in otolaryngology, which should be conducted at a正规 hospital. The specific steps are as follows:
1. Position the patient laterally. The physician performs routine disinfection of the skin around the ear canal.
2. Insert an otoscope through the external auditory canal and inject local anesthetic into the canal for surface anesthesia. After the anesthetic takes effect, remove any excess medication.
3. Use a dissector to separate the skin tissue near the perforation in the ear canal and lift it gently.
4. Place the graft material beneath the tympanic membrane, then lower the skin tissue to secure the graft in place.
5. Apply an appropriate amount of absorbable gelatin sponge foam both anteriorly and posteriorly to support the grafted area.
In daily life, patients should avoid upper respiratory tract infections and refrain from forceful nose-blowing, which could displace the graft and lead to surgical failure.
