Introduction
Influenza A is a common viral infection, with typical symptoms including fever, headache, and diarrhea. Appropriate massage techniques can effectively alleviate these symptoms. Generally, the areas for massage in cases of Influenza A with fever include the head, respiratory region, chest and abdomen, and limbs. It is important to comprehensively consider the patient's overall condition when performing massage.

Influenza A is a common bacterial infectious disease, with typical symptoms including fever, headache, and diarrhea. Symptoms can be alleviated through methods such as massage. Generally, the areas for massage to relieve Influenza A-related fever include the head, respiratory region, chest and abdomen, and limbs. The specific details are as follows:

  1. Head area

For headaches, massage can be applied to the head. Use the thumb, index finger, and middle finger to massage acupoints such as the temples, nearby radiating points, or along the forehead from top to bottom.

  2. Respiratory region

Massage can be performed on the tracheal area using a grasping and pressing technique—first massaging downward from front to back, then from right to left and back to front. Acupoints on the abdomen such as Zusanli (ST36), Zuyangming, and Shanzhong (CV17) can also be massaged using the thumb and index finger. Each acupoint should be pressed 5–10 times, with each session lasting 3–5 minutes.

  3. Chest and abdomen

Massage techniques for the chest and abdomen may include tapping, grasping, rubbing, and kneading. For tapping, clench the fist and use the fleshy part of the thumb to apply pressure. Using grasping and rubbing motions, work from the outside inward, focusing on the abdominal area with the fingertips of the thumb. Perform 5–10 grasping motions per session, each lasting 3–5 minutes. Kneading movements can also be incorporated to advance the massage technique, helping to alleviate symptoms and improve the condition.

  4. Limbs

When performing massage on the limbs, use the thumb and index finger to stimulate acupoints such as Dazhui (GV14), Shaoshang (LU11), and Taiyuan (LU9). Apply gentle pressure during massage, spending 3–5 minutes per session and repeating 5–10 times to help relieve symptoms.

Since fever caused by Influenza A is a systemic illness, patient conditions must be comprehensively evaluated during massage therapy. Massage should be conducted at a qualified medical facility, and patients should follow medical advice regarding medication to achieve optimal results.
