Introduction
Bruising after a mosquito bite may be caused by subcutaneous bleeding, local circulatory disturbance, or allergic purpura, and requires prompt medical treatment. In addition to these causes, it could also be due to pressure purpura, aplastic anemia, or hemophilia. Pay attention to getting adequate rest and avoid excessive fatigue. The main reason is damage to the capillaries in the skin at the bite site.

Bruising after a mosquito bite may be caused by excessive scratching, muscle contraction, subcutaneous hemorrhage, local vascular circulation disorders, allergic purpura, or other reasons, and timely medical treatment at a hospital is necessary. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Excessive Scratching

Mosquito bites can cause itching. If the patient excessively scratches the bitten area, it may damage skin tissue, leading to blood stasis and bruising. Under a doctor's guidance, patients may take oral medications such as levocetirizine hydrochloride capsules or compound glycyrrhizin capsules for treatment.

2. Muscle Contraction

When bitten by a mosquito, muscle contractions may heighten the body’s sensitivity to the mosquito’s stimulus, making the effects of the venom more severe. In such cases, bruising or blood stasis may also occur. This condition is generally normal and does not require special treatment.

3. Subcutaneous Hemorrhage

This mainly occurs when capillaries in the local skin are damaged after a mosquito bite, resulting in reduced capillary elasticity and causing the aforementioned symptoms. Under medical supervision, treatments may include transfer factor capsules or cyclosporine soft capsules.

4. Local Vascular Circulation Disorder

Due to increased blood volume in the local tissue, symptoms such as edema, congestion, and bruising may appear. Under a doctor’s guidance, medications such as nicergoline tablets or Huoxue Tongmai tablets may be used for treatment.

5. Allergic Purpura

This is primarily caused by an allergic reaction to certain substances in the body, increasing capillary permeability and leading to bleeding and bruising. Under medical guidance, medications such as levocetirizine hydrochloride tablets or diphenhydramine hydrochloride tablets may be used for treatment.

Besides the above causes, bruising could also result from pressure purpura, aplastic anemia, hemophilia, etc. It is important to get adequate rest and avoid excessive fatigue.
