Tingling or numbness at the tip of the tongue during sleep at night may be caused by physiological factors, or by pathological conditions such as facial nerve paralysis or transient ischemic attack. Treatment can be achieved through general management or medication. Specific details are as follows:

I. Physiological Factors

Regular consumption of spicy or irritating foods, long-term smoking, or alcohol use may lead to tongue numbness. Adjusting the diet is recommended, focusing on light and easily digestible foods.

II. Pathological Factors

1. Facial Nerve Paralysis

This usually refers to a condition in which damage or infection of the facial nerve leads to loss of motor function in the facial muscles. It may cause certain harm to the body and manifest as crooked mouth corners, numbness, etc. Medications such as Tiancan Capsules or Tiancan Tablets may be taken under medical guidance.

2. Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA)

Due to narrowing of cerebral blood vessels and insufficient blood supply to the brain, neurological dysfunction may occur, resulting in symptoms such as numbness and stiffness of the tongue tip. Medications such as enteric-coated aspirin tablets or rivaroxaban tablets may be used under a doctor's supervision.

In addition to the above causes, tongue numbness could also result from cerebral hypoxia, cerebral hemorrhage, or cerebral infarction. Adequate rest is important, and excessive fatigue should be avoided.
