Introduction
Acupoint injection therapy involves selecting appropriate acupoints and patient positions according to the individual's condition, then injecting medication into the body using a syringe. The medication is generally administered at a moderate speed. For patients who are weak, a mild stimulation technique is used, with the medication slowly and gently injected; for patients with acute conditions, a strong stimulation technique may be applied, involving rapid injection of the medication. It is recommended that acupoint injection therapy be performed at a正规 medical institution by qualified healthcare professionals.
Acupoint injection therapy is a form of acupuncture treatment, also known as hydroacupuncture. It involves injecting selected Western or Chinese medicinal solutions into specific acupoints to treat diseases. Taking the acupoint Jianzhen (SI9) as an example, the specific procedure is as follows:
1. Verify the patient's information before the procedure and prepare the medication according to the medical prescription.
2. Based on the patient’s condition, locate the Jianzhen acupoint, which is situated below and posterior to the shoulder joint, one cun above the posterior axillary fold when the arm is adducted. Position the patient in a sitting posture and fully expose the local skin area.
3. Reconfirm the location of the Jianzhen point, then disinfect the site.
4. Stretch the skin taut with the left hand while holding the syringe with the right hand; quickly insert the needle tip perpendicularly into the subcutaneous tissue at the acupoint.
5. Slowly advance the needle to the desired depth. Aspirate by pulling back slightly on the plunger; if no blood is drawn, inject the medication.
6. After withdrawing the needle, apply a sterile dry cotton ball over the puncture site and apply gentle pressure to stop any bleeding. The procedure is now complete.
