How to regulate kidney yang deficiency
Generally, kidney yang deficiency can be regulated through moxibustion at the Shenshu acupoint. The specific procedure is as follows:
1. Locate the acupoint: The Shenshu point is typically found beside the lower border of the second lumbar vertebra, on both sides of the midline of the lower back.
2. Clean the selected acupoint with warm water and soap to ensure the skin is clean and free from infection.
3. Cut the moxa stick to an appropriate length so it can be positioned close to the Shenshu acupoint.
4. Light one end of the moxa stick, then quickly blow out the flame, allowing it to smolder and produce smoke.
5. Place the lit moxa stick into a moxibustion box, and position the box over the Shenshu acupoint, allowing the moxa smoke to penetrate the acupoint during treatment.
6. After 15–30 minutes of moxibustion, wipe the skin with clean water and apply a soothing skincare product, avoiding exposure to cold or irritation.
It should be noted that moxibustion is a complementary therapy and may not be suitable for everyone. Before performing moxibustion, it is advisable to consult a qualified healthcare provider to ensure the chosen therapy is appropriate for individual health conditions.
