Ultrasound can assist in determining the size, location, and maturity of the abscess.

5. Pulmonary Thromboembolism

Pulmonary thromboembolism refers to obstruction of the pulmonary artery or its branches by a thrombus originating from the venous system or right heart, resulting in impaired pulmonary circulation and respiratory function. During pulmonary thromboembolism, ultrasound may reveal thrombotic echoes within the pulmonary artery or its branches, providing supportive information for diagnosis.
