Can I drink milk tea if I have a sore throat?
Generally speaking, a sore throat refers to throat pain. Drinking milk tea is not recommended when experiencing a sore throat. The specific reasons are as follows:

Milk tea typically contains high levels of sugar, theine (tea alkaloid), and other additives. The theine in milk tea may irritate the mucous membranes of the throat, worsening throat pain. Particularly when the throat is already inflamed or congested, the irritating components in milk tea might further exacerbate swelling and congestion of the throat's mucous membranes. Additionally, the sugar content in milk tea could increase secretion in the throat area, intensifying the inflammatory response and negatively affecting health. Moreover, the color and flavor of milk tea may mask the actual condition of the throat, making it difficult for patients to accurately assess changes in their throat condition and potentially affecting the progress of treatment.
During the recovery period, patients can choose warm water or mild salt water as daily beverages and should avoid consuming milk tea, carbonated drinks, and other irritating beverages to promote recovery.
