Introduction
In general, blisters that appear after moxibustion are usually caused by burns resulting from excessive duration or overly high temperature during the procedure. Symptoms can be alleviated by discontinuing moxibustion, cleaning the affected area, managing the blister, applying ointment, and proper observation and care. Patients should also avoid scratching or peeling off scabs themselves to prevent secondary infection or prolonged healing time.

Generally, blisters formed after moxibustion are usually caused by burns resulting from excessive duration or high temperature during the procedure. This condition can be relieved by stopping moxibustion, cleaning the affected area, managing the blister, applying ointment, and observation with proper care. Detailed measures are as follows:

1. Stop Moxibustion

If blistering is noticed during moxibustion, stop the procedure immediately to prevent further worsening of the blister.

2. Cleanse the Affected Area

Soak the blistered area in clean water or rinse it under running water to cool it down. Gently wipe the area with a sterilized cotton ball to maintain cleanliness and prevent infection.

3. Blister Management

For small blisters, no special treatment may be necessary; simply keep the area dry and clean and avoid friction, as the blister will usually be absorbed naturally. For larger blisters, under sterile conditions, a sterilized needle or small blade may be used to puncture the blister and gently express the fluid to alleviate pain.

4. Apply Ointment

Under a physician's guidance, medications such as moist burn ointment, mupirocin ointment, or Jingwanhong ointment can be applied. Apply the medicated ointment after cleaning the wound to protect the wound surface and promote healing.

5. Observation and Care

Keep the affected area dry and clean, and avoid contact with water to prevent interference with wound healing. Refrain from friction or excessive movement temporarily to avoid aggravating the injury. Monitor the blister's progression, and seek medical attention promptly if symptoms persist or worsen.

Patients should also avoid scratching or peeling off scabs themselves to prevent secondary infection or delay healing. Adjust dietary habits to avoid consuming spicy or irritating foods, such as chili peppers and ginger, which may interfere with wound recovery.
