Under normal circumstances, tests required before in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) include basic health examinations for both partners, fertility function assessments, chromosomal and genetic testing, reproductive system evaluations, and screening for infectious diseases. Generally, in vitro fertilization (IVF) refers to in vitro fertilization - embryo transfer (IVF-ET). Before undergoing IVF-ET, examinations required include basic health checks for both partners, fertility function assessment, chromosome and genetic testing, reproductive system examinations, and screening for infectious diseases. The details are as follows:

1. Basic Health Check for Both Partners

Both partners should undergo basic examinations such as blood pressure, blood glucose, urine analysis, and routine blood tests. These assessments help evaluate their general health status and ensure their bodies are suitable for IVF-ET.

2. Fertility Function Assessment

Six reproductive hormone tests assess a woman's ovarian function and ovulation status through blood testing. 4. Reproductive System Examination

Hysterosalpingography (HSG) is performed to determine if the fallopian tubes are patent, ensuring successful embryo implantation. Hysteroscopy evaluates the uterine cavity environment and rules out intrauterine pathologies. Prostate ultrasound and other examinations assess the health of the male reproductive organs, which are also important for the success of IVF-ET.

5. Screening for Infectious Diseases

Both partners need to undergo screening for infectious diseases such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, and syphilis to ensure safety during the IVF-ET process and prevent disease transmission.
