Introduction
Whether uterine fibroids can be completely removed during hysteroscopic surgery depends on the location and size of the fibroids. Submucosal fibroids or intramural fibroids protruding into the uterine cavity can usually be thoroughly excised. However, deeply intramural fibroids, subserosal fibroids, or cases with multiple or large fibroids are more difficult to completely remove and are prone to residual tissue. After surgery, patients should follow medical advice regarding medication to prevent infection and maintain external genital hygiene.

Whether uterine fibroids can be completely removed during hysteroscopic surgery depends on the location and size of the fibroids. Submucosal fibroids or intramural fibroids that protrude into the uterine cavity can usually be thoroughly excised. However, deep intramural fibroids, subserosal fibroids, or cases with multiple and large fibroids are more difficult to remove completely and are prone to residual tissue.

Situations where complete removal is more likely involve submucosal fibroids and certain intramural fibroids protruding into the uterine cavity. These fibroids are located within the uterine cavity or closely related to it, allowing direct visualization and precise manipulation via hysteroscopy. They can be completely resected using techniques such as electrocautery, resulting in a low probability of postoperative residue and favorable outcomes.

Cases where complete removal is difficult often occur when fibroids grow deeply within the myometrium or under the serosal layer, areas beyond the full visual range of the hysteroscope, making them hard to access and completely resect. If there are numerous or widely scattered fibroids, or if their size exceeds the operational capacity of surgical instruments, residual fibroid tissue may remain, necessitating regular follow-up examinations after surgery.

After surgery, patients should follow medical advice regarding medication to prevent infection, maintain external genital hygiene, and avoid sexual intercourse and tub baths for one month. In terms of diet, it is recommended to consume high-protein foods to promote recovery and avoid spicy or irritating foods.
