Can musk be used to treat hemorrhoids?
Musk may help alleviate symptoms caused by hemorrhoids such as swelling, pain, and bleeding in traditional applications, but it cannot cure hemorrhoids. It is mostly used as a component in compound formulations, and its effectiveness when used alone is limited. If hemorrhoids repeatedly prolapse, bleeding is heavy, or pain is severe, prompt medical attention is recommended.

Musk has properties of promoting blood circulation, dispersing nodules, reducing swelling, and relieving pain. It is commonly used in topical preparations for hemorrhoids, helping to improve local blood circulation, reduce congestion and edema of hemorrhoidal mucosa, temporarily relieve pain and bleeding, and alleviate patient discomfort.
However, it should be noted that musk is warm and pungent in nature, and there is currently insufficient scientific evidence in modern medicine to show that it can completely eliminate hemorrhoidal tissue or address the underlying causes of hemorrhoid formation. Additionally, some individuals may be allergic to musk, potentially experiencing skin itching, redness, or swelling after use; therefore, caution is advised.
In daily life, maintain anal hygiene by washing with warm water after each bowel movement; avoid prolonged sitting or standing, and perform regular anal sphincter exercises; eat a diet rich in dietary fiber to maintain smooth bowel movements and reduce irritation to hemorrhoids.
