Introduction
Pollen allergy commonly manifests as nasal congestion or sneezing. However, many pollen allergy symptoms occur on the skin, presenting as urticaria (hives) or facial dermatitis, as well as allergic dermatitis affecting other areas of the body. Some patients may develop diffuse facial erythema, wheal-like erythematous plaques, or pronounced exudative reactions.
Symptoms of pollen allergy are diverse. Common manifestations typically include nasal congestion and sneezing. Many pollen allergy symptoms involve the skin, presenting as urticaria (hives), facial dermatitis, or allergic dermatitis affecting other areas of the body. Some patients may develop diffuse facial erythema, wheal-like erythematous plaques, or pronounced exudative reactions.
Thus, pollen allergy symptoms affect multiple systems—particularly the skin and respiratory systems. Upon onset, prompt anti-allergic treatment is generally required. First-line therapy usually involves antihistamines, predominantly second-generation agents such as ebastine or cetirizine.
