Medications for Pediatric Eczema

Recommended medications for treating eczema are outlined below. Let’s explore them together. Qiangyue Ointment: A traditional Chinese herbal ointment effective in improving eczema symptoms. Its main ingredients include evening primrose oil, extracts of Notopterygium incisum, and vitamin E. It is a relatively safe topical preparation with excellent antipruritic (itch-relieving) and anti-eruptive effects. Unlike corticosteroid ointments, it does not induce drug resistance. Eczema Ointment: A self-prepared traditional Chinese medicine ointment. To prepare it, mix appropriate amounts of calomel, lead tetroxide (yellow dan), rhubarb, rosin, and tobacco powder; grind them into a fine powder; then add sesame oil to form an oil-based ointment for topical application—safe and effective.

Indigo Naturalis Ointment: Composed of indigo naturalis, Phellodendron bark powder, zinc oxide, calcined gypsum powder, sesame oil, and petrolatum. To prepare: grind an appropriate amount of indigo naturalis in a mortar until fine; add an appropriate amount of Phellodendron bark powder and grind thoroughly; incorporate zinc oxide, mix well, then add calcined gypsum powder and grind again; finally, add petrolatum and sesame oil to formulate a smooth ointment suitable for topical application to eczematous lesions. Black Oil Ointment: Combine appropriate amounts of dragon bone, gallnut, calomel, clamshell powder, borneol, and menthol; grind all ingredients into a fine powder; then mix with an appropriate quantity of petrolatum to produce a soft ointment for topical use.
