What Causes Elevated Transaminase Levels?
Disease description:
When I went to the hospital for a check-up, the doctor told me that my transaminase levels were slightly elevated. What causes elevated transaminase levels?
Elevated transaminase levels may be associated with non-pathological factors, such as excessive fatigue, heavy alcohol consumption, malnutrition, and pregnancy. They may also relate to intense physical exercise and drug side effects. Pathologically, elevated transaminases can indicate conditions including viral hepatitis and cirrhosis, as well as biliary tract disorders and cardiac diseases.
