What causes bradycardia?
Disease description:
I have always been in excellent health, but during a routine physical examination, I discovered that my heart rate was abnormally slow. What could be causing bradycardia?
It is possible that bradycardia (abnormally slow heart rate) has developed over a short period, so there is no need for excessive concern. Alternatively, the symptoms may stem from cerebral hypoperfusion (inadequate blood supply to the brain). Identifying the underlying cause and initiating timely treatment are essential. It is also important to maintain a calm and positive mindset. If you remain uneasy, consider undergoing a 24-hour Holter monitor (ambulatory ECG) to assess cardiac activity; any abnormalities detected should be treated promptly.
