Disease description:
I have a bicornuate uterus and have become pregnant unexpectedly. I would like to terminate the pregnancy. Could you please tell me what risks are associated with abortion in women with a bicornuate uterus?
Undergoing an abortion with a bicornuate uterus poses significant risks to a woman’s health and may lead to complications such as infertility, tubal rupture, tubal scarring and stenosis, tubal obstruction, salpingitis, cervical laceration, uterine perforation, endometriosis, cervical or intrauterine adhesions, pelvic inflammatory disease, cervical erosion, endocrine disorders, menstrual irregularities, incomplete abortion, chronic lower abdominal pain, low back pain, profuse uterine hemorrhage, frequent nocturnal dreaming, neurasthenia, cold intolerance, a sensation of coldness in the upper back, and rheumatic conditions. Therefore, if pregnancy is not desired, effective contraception must be consistently practiced.
