Disease description:

Today, due to vulvar itching, I went to the hospital for an examination, and the results showed vulvar leukoplakia. However, I don't know much about vulvar leukoplakia. May I ask what are the symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia?

Common symptoms of leukoplakia of the vulva typically include vulvar itching, vulvar pain, whitening of the vulvar skin, changes in vulvar skin texture, and vulvar atrophy.

1. Vulvar Itching: The itching may occur in episodes, often worsening at night, which can severely affect the patient's sleep and quality of life.

2. Vulvar Pain: Some patients experience vulvar pain, particularly during sexual intercourse or while walking.

3. Whitening of Vulvar Skin: The skin in the affected area gradually turns white, losing its normal pigmentation, and localized or diffuse white patches may appear on the vulvar skin.

4. Changes in Vulvar Skin: The vulvar skin may become thinner, thicker, or rougher. In later stages of the disease, the skin may significantly thicken, become coarse, and even develop lichenification.

5. Vulvar Atrophy: The vulva may undergo atrophy, leading to narrowing of the vaginal opening and affecting sexual activity and urination. The skin in the vulvar area becomes dry, and the clitoris and labia minora and majora may exhibit varying degrees of atrophy and adhesion.

If these symptoms occur, prompt medical consultation is recommended for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
