What does it mean when a B-ultrasound shows pelvic fluid accumulation?
Disease description:
Yesterday, I went to the hospital for a B-ultrasound examination, which revealed pelvic fluid accumulation. What could be the cause of this?
B-mode ultrasound reveals pelvic fluid accumulation, which may be physiological. If the amount of fluid is small, it is generally considered normal. Physiological pelvic fluid accumulation typically occurs during menstruation or ovulation and is usually absorbed spontaneously without requiring specific treatment. However, if the fluid volume is substantial, it may indicate a pathological condition—most commonly caused by poor hygiene leading to inflammatory infection.
