How to Address Infant Acclimatization Issues
Disease description:
Recently, we moved to another city, and our child seems to be experiencing “water-and-soil incompatibility” (a traditional Chinese concept referring to adverse reactions after relocation), with persistent nausea and vomiting. We’d like to know how to address this issue.
To address “water and soil incompatibility” (i.e., traveler’s gastrointestinal discomfort due to environmental or dietary changes), it is advisable to temporarily avoid local foods, drink plenty of warm boiled water, and take probiotics appropriately to help regulate gut microbiota—this may improve and alleviate symptoms. If symptoms are severe, a thorough medical evaluation at a hospital is necessary, followed by medication prescribed by a physician. During illness, prioritize light, easily digestible foods.
