Do you feel anything when the embryo implants after IVF transfer?
Disease description:
I have fallopian tube obstruction, which is relatively severe. I’ve undergone several tubal patency procedures, but without success. I am now pursuing pregnancy through in vitro fertilization (IVF). After embryo transfer in IVF, is there any sensation associated with embryo implantation?
After embryo transfer in IVF, embryo implantation typically occurs without noticeable symptoms. However, women with heightened sensitivity may experience a sensation of pelvic heaviness or mild abdominal pressure, and some may have light vaginal spotting. Approximately ten days after embryo transfer, women can visit the hospital for a blood β-hCG test. An initial serum β-hCG level above 5 mIU/mL—especially if it doubles successfully within 48–72 hours—indicates successful implantation.
