Whether hepatitis B can be cured depends on its specific type. Hepatitis B is a disease caused by infection with the hepatitis B virus (HBV) and is classified as either acute or chronic. Acute hepatitis B is a self-limiting disease; over 90% of patients achieve full recovery following systematic treatment. In contrast, the cure rate for chronic hepatitis B is significantly lower, with a clinical cure rate of only about 10%; complete cure is relatively uncommon.
