What medications are effective for cervical erosion?
Disease description:
I have been diagnosed with cervical ectropion, which has caused abnormal vaginal discharge and irregular bleeding. My doctor advised me to start medication promptly. Could you please advise what medications are effective for cervical ectropion?
Cervical erosion is typically treated under a physician’s guidance with medications that have antipruritic, anti-infective, heat-clearing, and dampness-drying properties—such as polyphenol sulfonate solution or Baofukang suppositories. The standard treatment course lasts one month, involving local application for 7–10 days per cycle, repeated over three consecutive cycles. After completing treatment, patients should return to the hospital for follow-up evaluation to assess disease progression. If symptoms show no improvement, laser therapy may be recommended. This high-temperature procedure (reaching over 700°C) induces carbonization of inflamed or pathologically altered cervical tissue, followed by gradual scab formation and subsequent healing.
