Low sperm viability in males may be attributed to two primary factors. First, it may be associated with inflammatory conditions of the urogenital system—such as orchitis, prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, and epididymitis—which can lead to fluid accumulation and nutrient deficiency in the local environment, thereby impairing the sperm survival milieu and resulting in markedly reduced sperm viability. Second, it may be linked to varicocele, a condition that disrupts normal local testicular blood circulation and consequently compromises sperm quality and viability.
