Causes of Low Sperm Motility
Disease description:
I've been married to my wife for four or five years, and we haven't had a child. After going to the hospital for a medical checkup, the doctor told me that my sperm motility is low. What causes low sperm motility?
Causes of Low Sperm Viability:
1. Unhealthy lifestyle habits: Long-term sleep deprivation, excessive fatigue, unbalanced diet, or deficiency in essential nutrients such as zinc and selenium may impair sperm production and survival.
2. Environmental factors: Exposure to radiation, high temperatures, and similar environments may disrupt normal spermatogenesis, leading to abnormal sperm morphology or functional impairments.
3. Medical conditions: Genitourinary infections such as prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, and orchitis, as well as varicocele, may directly damage sperm or alter their living environment, thereby reducing sperm viability.
4. Genetic factors: Certain genetic disorders or gene mutations may also affect sperm development and survival capacity.
5. Medication use: Drugs such as chemotherapy agents and hormonal medications may interfere with cell division or metabolic processes, negatively affecting sperm production.
