I’ve had an intrauterine device (IUD) in place for ten years, and it has now reached its expiration date, so I need to go to the hospital to have it removed. However, I’m quite anxious about the procedure and would like to ask: Is IUD removal painful?

Typically, the procedure takes approximately 5–10 minutes. If the IUD is embedded or fractured, the procedure time may be prolonged.
