Dr. Pan Yongyuan
Gout patients may consume peanuts in moderation. Peanuts are classified as a moderate-purine food; thus, gout patients may consume small amounts during periods of disease stability. In addition to potentially affecting serum uric acid levels, peanuts may also influence blood lipid levels; therefore, excessive consumption is not recommended for gout patients. Gout patients can safely consume a variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, milk, and eggs. For other moderate-purine foods—such as common meat products and soy-based foods—gout patients should limit their intake.
