Can people with high uric acid levels eat king oyster mushrooms?
Disease description:
I personally enjoy eating king oyster mushrooms, but I also have hyperuricemia. Therefore, I would like to ask: Can people with high uric acid levels eat king oyster mushrooms?
Patients with hyperuricemia may consume king oyster mushrooms in moderation. King oyster mushrooms are classified as medium-purine foods, and among such foods, their purine content is relatively low—only 30 mg of purines per 100 g. Therefore, patients with elevated serum uric acid levels may consume them in appropriate amounts. However, king oyster mushrooms are not recommended for patients with elevated serum uric acid or those experiencing an acute gout attack. Patients in the intercritical or chronic phase of gout, as well as asymptomatic individuals with hyperuricemia, may consume king oyster mushrooms in moderation.
