How is epididymitis treated?
Disease description:
I’ve recently experienced swelling and pain in my epididymis, which is very uncomfortable—this seems like epididymitis. How is epididymitis treated?
If diagnosed with epididymitis caused by bacterial infection, antibiotics—such as levofloxacin or moxifloxacin—should be administered under a physician’s guidance to control inflammation and infection. In severe cases, intravenous antibiotic therapy is required. If an epididymal abscess develops, incision and drainage are necessary to evacuate the purulent material. For severe pain, analgesics (e.g., sodium aceclofenac) may be prescribed per medical advice.
