Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS) is a naturally occurring zoonotic disease primarily caused by hantaviruses. Clinically, it manifests as fever, renal impairment, shock, and hemorrhage. HFRS can be classified into five types:
- **Mild type**: Characterized by relatively mild systemic toxic symptoms and minimal renal damage.
- **Moderate type**: The most common form, presenting with more pronounced systemic toxic symptoms.
- **Severe type**: Marked by severe systemic toxicity, shock, and significant renal impairment.
- **Critical type**: Features refractory shock and serious complications.
- **Atypical type**: Presents with positive specific antigens or antibodies in blood or urine, without typical clinical manifestations.
