I’ve had a high fever for the past two days and was just diagnosed with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). What is HFRS?
Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is an infectious disease typically caused by hantavirus infection. The primary reservoir and source of transmission is rodents. Clinical manifestations include abdominal pain, abdominal distension, flank pain, headache, high fever, anorexia, and petechiae on the skin and in the axillae. Additionally, patients may develop anuria, oliguria, and hypotension.
