Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS) is typically caused by infection with hantaviruses. Rodents are the primary reservoir and transmission source; human infection occurs through exposure to virus-contaminated rodent excreta, leading to renal damage. Clinical manifestations of HFRS commonly include fever, lumbar pain, and headache. In severe cases, patients may develop toxic shock and acute kidney injury.
