What is Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS)?
Disease description:
I haven’t felt particularly unwell recently, but yesterday I was suddenly diagnosed with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). I’d like to know what HFRS is.
Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS) is generally caused by an acute viral infection. Patients should actively undergo antiviral therapy as directed by their physician to prevent progressive toxicity and the development of complications. Common symptoms include bleeding, headache, and lumbar pain. Complications such as gastrointestinal bleeding, heart failure with pulmonary edema, and spontaneous renal rupture may occur, thereby increasing the difficulty of subsequent treatment.
