What Are the Symptoms of Oral Herpes in Children?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve heard that many children have developed oral herpes. Today, I noticed two small blisters on my child’s tongue, and I’m worried it might be oral herpes. Could you please tell me what the symptoms of oral herpes in children are?
Oral herpes in children is typically asymptomatic in its early stages. However, as the disease progresses, symptoms such as fever may develop—often with a relatively high temperature—along with irritability and crying. Additionally, as the condition advances, small vesicles may appear on the oral mucosa, gums, tongue, or hard palate. These vesicles have thin walls and tend to coalesce into larger confluent areas.
