Why don’t follicles grow?
Disease description:
I’ve been unable to get pregnant, and tests revealed that my follicles aren’t developing properly. I’d like to ask: What causes poor follicular development?
Hello, external adverse factors—such as weather changes, physical fatigue, and sleep deprivation—can disrupt the normal secretion of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), thereby impairing follicular development. Additionally, a pituitary microadenoma may cause endocrine dysfunction, leading to inadequate follicular development.
Other contributing factors include abnormal thyroid function, which can disturb the secretion of female sex hormones and consequently impair follicular development. Furthermore, intrinsic ovarian pathology—such as adnexal inflammation or ovarian masses—can also adversely affect follicular development.
