Can epididymitis be completely cured?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve experienced some pain in my scrotum and went to the hospital for evaluation; the doctor diagnosed me with epididymitis. I’d like to ask—can epididymitis be completely cured?
Epididymitis is generally curable. Acute epididymitis can be treated with antibiotics such as cephalosporins or ceftazidime; symptoms and pain typically subside gradually after a course of treatment. Chronic epididymitis commonly presents as a scrotal mass and may lead to male infertility; appropriate antimicrobial therapy can help alleviate symptoms. For recurrent chronic epididymitis, epididymectomy is required for definitive cure.
