Can patients with systemic lupus erythematosus nephritis eat wax apple (Syzygium samarangense)?
Disease description:
My older brother has lupus nephritis. He has noticed a significant increase in foamy urine. I’m unsure whether patients with lupus nephritis can eat wax apple (Syzygium samarangense).
Patients with lupus nephritis can generally consume small amounts of wax apple (Syzygium samarangense). Wax apple is considered “cool” in nature and possesses diuretic, antitussive, and phlegm-resolving properties. It is also rich in vitamins and trace elements, offering significant health benefits. Individuals without known allergies may consume it in moderation. Patients are advised to start with a small amount and monitor for any adverse reactions; if none occur, continued consumption is acceptable.
