What Are the Symptoms of Trachoma?
Disease description:
I’ve been tearing up involuntarily over the past couple of days. After searching online, it seems like it might be trachoma. What are the symptoms of trachoma?
Trachoma may cause symptoms such as ocular pain and lacrimation. During the acute phase, patients may present with conjunctival injection, mucopurulent discharge, and preauricular lymphadenopathy. In the chronic phase, conjunctival hyperemia and conjunctival thickening occur—particularly prominent in the upper tarsal and fornical conjunctiva—and severe follicles may undergo necrosis; healing results in conspicuous scarring. Patients are advised to seek medical evaluation and treatment promptly.
