What Causes Iliac Joint Arthritis?

Iliac arthritis is an autoimmune disease associated with genetic, environmental, constitutional, and immunological factors. Ninety percent of patients also have sacroiliitis; therefore, strenuous physical activity should be avoided as much as possible. In mild cases, biologic agents may be considered. In more severe cases, sulfasalazine enteric-coated tablets may be prescribed. Patients should maintain warmth and undergo regular follow-up examinations.
