Can individuals with strabismus and astigmatism wear orthokeratology (Ortho-K) lenses?
Disease description:
I also have strabismus and 150 degrees of astigmatism. I would like to wear orthokeratology (ortho-k) lenses—can individuals with strabismus and astigmatism wear ortho-k lenses?
Whether individuals with strabismus or astigmatism can wear orthokeratology (ortho-k) lenses depends on their specific ocular conditions. If strabismus is present and incompatible with ortho-k lens wear, spectacles may be considered as an alternative. For severe strabismus, surgical correction is generally recommended. Following surgery, if myopia progression remains poorly controlled, ortho-k lenses may be considered. Additionally, corrective lenses for astigmatism may also be required.
