Causes of nocturnal emission in males
Disease description:
This morning when I woke up, I found my underwear was wet—it turned out I had experienced a nocturnal emission. I'm not sure if this means I'm sick. What causes nocturnal emissions in males?
Nocturnal emission in males occurs after puberty, when the body has matured and produces sufficient testosterone, promoting the development of external genital organs and sex glands. This leads to an increase in testicular volume and the formation of interstitial testes capable of secreting higher levels of androgens. The seminiferous tubules can normally produce sperm, and the accessory sex glands have reached maturity. When sperm accumulate to a certain quantity, under certain stimuli, spontaneous overflow or natural nocturnal emission may occur.
