What does a vulvar leiomyoma look like?
Disease description:
There is a lump below with a sensation of heaviness and distension; what does vulvar leiomyoma look like?
Leiomyoma of the vulva appears as a round, smooth-surfaced mass with a relatively firm consistency. Patients are usually asymptomatic, although some may experience a sensation of heaviness in the vulvar region, while others discover the mass themselves. It occurs most commonly in the labia majora, but has also been reported in the clitoris and labia minora. According to existing literature, the largest reported vulvar leiomyoma had a diameter of up to 10 cm. Treatment typically involves surgical excision of the tumor.
