What causes dry, pellet-like stools?
Disease description:
The stool is always coming out in small, dry pellets and is difficult to pass. I would like to know what causes dry, pellet-like stools.
This may be due to stool remaining in the intestine for too long, excessive absorption of water, insufficient dietary fiber intake, or inadequate fluid consumption. When patients do not drink enough water, intestinal moisture decreases, leading to pellet-like stools. Frequently consuming spicy and stimulating foods, especially a diet high in spice, can cause internal heat and constipation; therefore, attention to diet is important. It is recommended to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits. If the patient has too little physical activity, intestinal motility will weaken, resulting in pellet-shaped stools.
