Disease description:

My father-in-law has such severe shoulder pain that he can't move it. I looked it up online and it seems like it might be shoulder periarthritis. What are the symptoms of shoulder periarthritis in men?

Male patients with shoulder periarthritis may experience symptoms such as pain and restricted movement. The pain gradually worsens and, in severe cases, radiates to the elbow and neck, particularly at night. If not treated promptly, it may even lead to atrophy of the deltoid muscle. In mild cases, the condition can recover on its own—for example, by rotating both arms forward and backward in a circular motion centered on the shoulder joint, or by standing and placing both hands against a wall.
