What causes shoulder pain?
I had a cervical spondylosis flare-up a few days ago. At first, I only had a headache, but after taking medication, I felt better. However, today I suddenly experienced shoulder pain. Why is that?

Causes of shoulder pain include:
1. Shoulder periarthritis: Also known as adhesive capsulitis, it commonly occurs in middle-aged individuals around 50 years old. It typically presents as pain in the shoulder joint and surrounding areas, possibly accompanied by restricted movement.
2. Rotator cuff injury: Degeneration of the rotator cuff tissues due to sports injuries or aging may lead to rotator cuff tears, presenting as shoulder joint pain, weakness when lifting the arm, and worsening pain at night.
3. Shoulder impingement syndrome: Repeated impingement between the acromion and the greater tubercle of the humerus damages the rotator cuff tissues, causing pain during movement.
4. Shoulder osteoarthritis: Degenerative changes in the joint lead to cartilage wear and narrowing of the joint space, resulting in joint pain.
5. Trauma: Injuries such as clavicle fractures, scapular fractures, or acromioclavicular joint dislocation can cause shoulder pain, often accompanied by swelling, deformity, and restricted movement.
