Can I go to the hospital for menstrual pain?
Disease description:
Both my best friend and I suffer from dysmenorrhea, but my pain is more severe. I'd like to know whether it's appropriate to see a doctor at the hospital for painful periods.
Dysmenorrhea can be evaluated at a hospital. If the patient's symptoms are mild and they are still able to work normally, it is usually primary dysmenorrhea, which typically does not require urgent medical attention. Taking appropriate pain relievers can help alleviate discomfort. Proper lifestyle management, such as avoiding strenuous exercise, ensuring adequate rest, and maintaining a light diet, is also recommended. Patients should seek medical care if symptoms worsen. Severe dysmenorrhea or pain that is unbearable generally requires hospital evaluation and treatment.
