If menstrual bleeding has seemingly stopped but there is still slight spotting, this condition may be related to gynecological inflammation. For example, endometritis, vaginitis, and cervicitis can cause prolonged menstruation, so timely medication is necessary. A color Doppler ultrasound should also be performed to assess the thickness of the endometrium. If menstruation has just ended, the endometrium should not be particularly thick; if it remains thick, this could be the reason for prolonged menstrual bleeding. In such cases, hemostatic drugs can be taken first, followed by observation to see if symptoms improve. If this occurs during menopause, the bleeding might be due to hormonal fluctuations associated with the climacteric period.
