How to determine if synovitis has healed
Disease description:
I've had synovitis for a while, and I've been particularly careful to stay warm in daily life. After a series of treatments, I feel much better, but my mother says I should continue resting. I'd like to know how to tell if synovitis has fully healed. So, how can one determine whether synovitis has completely resolved?
The resolution of local redness, heat, and pain serves as the basis for determining whether synovitis has improved. When joint mobility is limited due to increased swelling, improvement in joint movement after treatment, along with significant joint effusion, allows for aspiration of large amounts of purulent or cloudy joint fluid via arthrocentesis. After treatment, the aspirated joint fluid is found to be clear, pale yellow, and transparent—indicating normal synovial fluid—and tenderness around the joint improves, while skin temperature around the joint returns to normal.
